January: Celebrating Fresh New Starts

When I began this blog a little over a year ago, I was struggling a bit. My life had changed dramatically in the year before and I was mourning my "old life". It was a very difficult time for me. I had been in a blue hue for many months at that point and I don't like living my life in a blue hue. I really do prefer to live life joyfully with a Rosie outlook.

So...I started this blog out of a desperate attempt to make some changes in my life. I came up with a plan. I would tackle a "Quest" each month: something I wanted or needed to do that I had just not taken the time to do. This is how I came up with my 2013 Year Long Adventure I called my Heart & Spirit Monthly Quest.

I chose Psalm 51:10: "Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me" as my inspiration verse for this special quest. I truly wanted God to help me create a pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit.

Here we are on the brink of another new year. I have completed my first year of blogging. I did a Quest every month...thirty days at a time...and I accomplished my goal. It really was a great adventure and I'm so glad I decided to add this project to my life. I made some wonderful changes throughout this year...which most certainly helped me develop a purer heart and most definitely renewed a steadfast spirit in me. All Glory goes to God. He did it!

I come away from this adventure with an acceptance of my place in this world and goals for my future that I had never considered before. It is exciting and makes me look forward to 2014!

Which brings me to my 2014 Year Long Adventure...I have decided to continue blogging for another year. I have chosen a new inspiration Bible verse for this new Quest from Psalm 16:11: "You direct me on the path that leads to a beautiful life. As I walk with You, the pleasures are never-ending, and I know true joy and contentment."

David said these beautiful words to God and I love them. In December, I want to be able to look back on the entire year of 2014 and say those words myself to God. So this year I will focus on Joyfully Celebrating the Seasons of Life. As Winter melts into Spring...and Spring warms into Summer...and Summer cools into Fall...with each new Season I will be celebrating each month with a different theme.

I will kick off this 2014 Year Long Adventure with Winter bringing "Fresh New Starts in January".

Please join me on my Quest to seek the Fresh New Starts that a New Year brings! I already have a few interesting ideas brewing...
