Heart & Spirit Monthly Quest

*From December 2012 - November 2013 I took this Year Long Adventure. 
To follow my Heart & Spirit Monthly Quest journey read my Blog posts during this time frame.*

So where did this idea come from?  I was thinking about my friends who were posting something they were thankful for every day in November.  I have done this in the past and I think it's a great way to honor the spirit of Thanksgiving.

You know, it's been said that it takes 30 days to create a habit.  Maybe posting something for 30 days creates a thankful heart.  What a positive side effect! 

So, with that in mind, what other positives could come out of doing something for 30 days?  I have a list of things I would like to accomplish, but never take the time to do them!  

The crazy thing is, most of what I want to do wouldn't take that long.  If I do a little something each day for a month, I could easily mark items off my list and make positive changes in my heart and in my life.  

Some of these changes I would like to make permanently in my life.  For those changes, I would continue them into the next month, and hopefully into my daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, life altering routine. 

Would anyone like to join me in this quest?

You can do this Heart & Spirit Quest either on a month by month basis or as a "New Year's Resolution" 12 month kind of plan.  I am going to take the entire 2013 Year Long Adventure.  I've never done anything like this before, so it will be a true adventure to see if I can stick with it and accomplish my goals for a year - one month at a time.

So here's the Heart & Spirit Quest plan:

Step 1: Make a List

*It can be anything you would like to change!

Step 2: Get a Calendar

*It can be a wall calendar, pocket calendar, an app on your electronic device, or even hand-drawn if you like.  Something that you will see every day to remind you of your daily plan

Step 3: Create your Plan

*Choose your first item off your list, sit down with your calendar and spend some time thinking about how you will accomplish your goal by doing something every day.  Make it attainable.  Don't challenge yourself so much, that you give up a few days into it after you realize it's just too much!  Make it doable!

Step 4: Let me know

*I'll be posting about what I am working on and I would love to hear from you as well!  Let's keep each other accountable and stick to accomplishing the change we are seeking!  As an added bonus, it will be fun to celebrate together at the end of each month!

Step 5: Enjoy the changes you are making, share with me the frustrations you are having, and focus on your heart and spirit while you accomplish each day's task.

I'm going to start in December and make that month a Cherish Christmas month.  Then I will kick off my 2013 Year Long Adventure in January.  So there is plenty of time to think, plan, and organize before joining me in my quest.

AND If you are finding something to be Thankful for each day in November, then you have already begun!
